DARIUS MILHAUD He signs a 1946 letter of agreement with Columbia Records, accepting minor clauses omitted from his 1945 recording contract. Documentary Letter signed: "Darius Milhaud", 1 page, 8x11. New York, N.Y., 1946 January 16. Milhaud signs his acceptance of the terms in a typed letter from Columbia Records, remedying minor omissions from his contract dated 1945 December 31. The added provisions forbid dubbed recordings and incorporate into the contract Columbia's license agreement with the American Federation of Musicians. A French composer of dramatic, orchestral, vocal, chamber and instrumental music, Milhaud (1892-1974) was one of the first composers to use bitonality (playing in two keys at once). In the 20s and 30s, he incorporated jazz and Latin rhythms into his music. Staple holes at upper left corner. 2 filing holes at top center margin. Horizontal fold creases. Lightly creased.
